The choice of raw material is everything. I hunt down and carefully select vintage sheets and bath towels with an elegant, authentic design:
delicate florals, bold stripes, super-saturated colours, psychedelic prints…
In the seventies, people loved mixing colours on themselves and at home…
To the timeless beauty of each one is added the nostalgia of an object that has already lived a first life, sometimes full of memories.
No two are ever alike
This wealth of colours and patterns is the source of my inspiration. Their diversity opens infinite possibilities and lets me offer a wide range of hats. From the quiet little Galurin with its faded motif to the bold one with its vivid, punchy colours, there is something for every taste — for her, for him, and for the little ones too.
Selecting the fabrics, matching the patterns, choosing the linings, cutting to shape, assembling, sewing, perfecting the finishes…
So many steps that give birth to a truly one-of-a-kind piece, a Galurin entirely handmade and numbered.
It has the flaws of its qualities
The towels used are often more than 50 years old.
The terry fabric may therefore show small signs of its past life — which cannot be seen as flaws, but on the contrary as a singular mark that gives your Galurin a unique, timeless soul. To adopt a Galurin is to carry a story forward…
The charm of the past, to protect the future
Wearing a Galurin also means supporting a more eco-friendly, durable and environmentally respectful kind of fashion.
Upcycling means creatively repurposing existing materials to give them a new life. Since the best waste is the waste never created, reusing an object is about the best recycling there is — perfectly in tune with the Zero waste idea.
